Meet the Doc

      Dr. Crutchfield, who grew up in Northern Virginia and attended Lake Braddock Secondary School, graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in biology and a minor in chemistry. Dr. Crutchfield then attended the Medical College of Virginia's School of Dentistry earning a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. While in dental school, Dr. Crutchfield served as president of the Medical College of Virginia Student Government and as a student member of the Medical College of Virginia Board of Visitors. He was awarded the American Association of Orthodontists dental student award. After graduating from dental school, Dr. Crutchfield attended the MCV Orthodontic Residency for his specialty training in orthodontics. Immediately after graduation, Dr. Crutchfield started his orthodontic practice in Chantilly. 

     Dr. Crutchfield is a board-certified orthodontist and is recognized as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and the College of Diplomates. Few orthodontists achieve this honor. The certification process takes many years consisting of written and oral examinations, presentation of patient's cases and scrutiny by the members of the American Board of Orthodontics. This is not only an achievement but a benefit for our patients. Dr. Crutchfield and his staff strive to provide you and your family with the best orthodontic care. 

         Dr. Crutchfield has served the community and the orthodontic profession in many ways. He is currently President of the Virginia Association of Orthodontics. He has served as the President of the Medical College of Virginia Orthodontic Education and Research Foundation. Locally, Dr. Crutchfield served two years as President of the Dulles area Chamber of Commerce (now the Herndon-Dulles Chamber of Commerce) as well as on Fairfax County committees. He has also been a member of the Easter Seals of Northern Virginia. 

         Dr. Crutchfield is married with two daughters and lives in Fairfax. His activities include all sports, woodworking and playing his guitar. If you're lucky (or unlucky), you'll get to hear him play guitar (don't worry - he's continually taking lessons). The doc is skilled in all aspects of building construction (that is how he paid for school). Many areas of the office were built by the doc, including the glass block wall at our entrance.
